Advani congratulates Anand for World Chess title
Leader of the Opposition LK Adivani on Wednesday congratulated Viswanathan Anand for winning the World Chess Championship yet again.
"Viswanathan Anand has made the country proud once again by winning the world championship. I congratulate him on this achievement," Advani said.
"Anand is an icon of the country and nothing less then the excellence and talent of the young generation personified", he said. The BJP's prime ministerial candidate wished good luck for Anand's future career and said that he is an inspiration for the countrymen and the young people in particular.
Advani said that three times world championship winner inspires the youth to excel in whatever they do and be a world champion.
Viswanathan Anand retained the world title with a 24-move draw against Russian Vladimir Kramnik in the penultimate game of the 12-game World Chess Championship final in Bonn, Germany on Wednesday.
The Indian, playing with white pieces, took an unbeatable 6.5-4.5 lead to retain the title.
