Indian Challenge ends at Tennis Masters Cup
Mahesh Bhupathi and his Bahamian partner Mark Knowles crashed out of the season ending Tennis Masters Cup after losing their virtual quarter-final clash against Luis Horna and Pablo Cue Vas here on Thursday.
The third seeded Indo-Bahamaian pair lost their last round robin match of the Red Group 7-6(3) 6-7(4) 5-10 to the eighth seeded Peru-Uruguay combination.
Both the pairs had come into the match with one defeat and one victory. It was a must win match for both the team in order to qualify for the semifinal stage.
With this defeat, Indian challenge ended at the prestigious USD 4,45,000 event as Leander Paes and his partner Lukas Dlouhy also failed to make the semifinal cut.
Only the top two teams of the Red and Gold groups will compete in the semifinals.
Paes and Dlouhy finished last in the four-team Gold group.
