Primoz Kozmus finds gold
Primoz Kozmus of Slovenia has taken gold in the Men's Hammer Throw at the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games on August 17, giving Slovenia its first ever Olympic track and field gold medal...
Kozmus, a silver medalist at the world championships last August, produced a season-best of 82.02 meters on his second throw.
Belarus filled out the rest of the podium, with Athens 2004 fourth-place finisher Vadim Devyatovskiy throwing 81.61 meters to claim silver, beating three-time world champion Ivan Tsikhan, who claimed bronze with a 81.51 meter throw.
Defending Olympic champion Koji Murofushi placed fifth at 80.71.
