Murray Defeats Llodra, But Both Impress on Grandstand
Who says that a memorable match has to go five sets? Michael Llodra and Andy Murray disproved that theory today on Grandstand after their four-set battle captivated fans from start to finish. The stadium had been hanging on every point, and when Murray finally emerged victorious (6-4, 1-6, 7-5, 7-6), his vocal British supporters were delirious.
Bryan Brothers Entertain in Round One
The Bryan brothers, the 2005 US Open men’s doubles champions and this year’s No. 2 seed, were their usual entertaining and buoyant selves as they faced off against Nicolas Almagro and Pablo Andujar of Spain. While the Spanish duo gave the Bryans a run for their money, the No. 2 seeds moved on in straight sets, 6-3, 6-2.

Venus Williams Overpowers Qualifier De Los Rios
Venus Williams was simply too overpowering for Paraguayan qualifier Rossana De Los Rios Thursday during the second round of the US Open. Williams, the No. 7-seeded player, had no trouble eliminating De Los Rios, 6-0, 6-3.
