Adam Gilchrist urges Ozs not to panic after India loss

Greg Chappell might have called for a watershed think-tank in the aftermath of Australia's 0-2 loss to India, but former wicket-keeper batsman Adam Gilchrist has urged the Australians not to panic as even Steve Waugh-led all-conquering side had returned as vanquished in 2001.

The retired Test great, who is leading an All-Stars Twenty20 side against the current Australian team on Friday, said Australia had always found it hard to win in India, and Ricky Ponting's team will be on their winning ways again at home, in the series against New Zealand starting next week.

"People shouldn't be panicking too much, it was frustrating to be defeated but there were still some positive signs there with some new careers starting," Gilchrist said.

"The most glaring thing I think from India is it reminded me what a difficult place it is to tour and how hard it is to win there.

"In 2001 we went there with one of the best cricket teams ever assembled and we still couldn't win," Gilchrist said."This summer's familiar conditions are like chalk and cheese compared to India," he was quoted as saying by 'Herald Sun'.
