Dallas captain Morrow faces long injury layoff
Dallas Stars captain Brenden Morrow is expected to be out for the rest of the season due to a torn ligament in his right knee that requires surgery, the team said on their website on Friday.
The 29-year-old left wing sustained the injury during the third period of Thursday's game against the Chicago Blackhawks.
"We are obviously disappointed," co-general manager Les Jackson told reporters.
"There is a lot of hockey left to be played and we are confident our team will rally together and keep pushing."
Morrow, who has spent his entire career with Dallas, ranks second on the team in points this season with five goals and 10 assists in the 18 games he has played.
