McGrath Foundation raises $4,00,000

The Australian public has dug deep in their pocket to support the McGrath Foundation with over USD 4,00,000 as donations at the end of the fourth day's play of the third and final Test between Australia and South Africa in Sydney today.

In addition to the public support both at website of the foundation and at the Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG), a number of their organisations have joined hands to support the McGrath Foundation which is involved in charity work for breast cancer patients.

Channel Nine and the Women's Weekly have contributed USD 50,000 to the cause, Betfair raised USD 10,000 through the 'Pink Pigeon' race, while Cricket New South Wales presented Chairman of the foundation Glenn McGrath with USD 20,000 at a luncheon on Tuesday.

Overwhelmed at the response from the public, McGrath said, "We've been blown away by the support we've received from everybody around Australia. The Australian public, Channel 9, 3 Mobile , CA, the SCG Trust and the both teams, they've all made this a very special time for the McGrath Foundation and are helping to make Australians more breast aware."

"There was no way we could have anticipated the level of funds that have been donated. We're extremely grateful and promise to use the money in a way that helps make a difference," he added.
