Sachin Tendulkar interacts with Mumbai women cricketers
Master blaster Sachin Tendulkar took time off after his net session on Thursday to give tips to the women cricketers of Mumbai who are preparing for the forthcoming All India Super League limited overs tournament.
Tendulkar, who had started practicing yesterday for the upcoming two-Test rubber against England, advised the women cricketers to become mentally strong and emulate Mumbai men cricketers, according to team coach Anjali Pedneker.
"He talked to our batters as well as bowlers. He told them about how to become mentally strong, on the importance of pacing their innings and how to avoid getting bogged down in case the rival captain adopts a 7-2 field. It was very useful," said Pedneker.
"He also told them to see the success men's team and how well they have done and aspire to emulate them," she said.
Tendulkar spoke to the women cricketers, who were practicing on adjoining nets at MCA's BKC ground, at Pedneker's request.
